• June 4, 2025: Aqueduct Trail Bridge, Towpath Trail between Warner/Canal Road intersection, and Aqueduct Trail head parking lot are closed for bridge repair and maintenance. Detour directions: Heading north- Exit off of Towpath trail onto Warner Road, turn on Canal Road then back onto Towpath via Aqueduct A-frame bridge. Heading south- Exit off of Towpath trail across Aqueduct A-Frame bridge onto Canal Road, turn onto Warner Road then back onto Towpath Trail.

• September 5, 2025: The Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail from Station Road Bridge Trailhead to Frazee House will be closed daily beginning Monday, September 8 through Friday, September 12, 2025 between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

• Beginning April 8, 2025: The Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail between W. Exchange Street and W. Cedar Street will be closed after 1:00 p.m. on Akron RubberDucks home games due to firework preparation for the duration of the 2025 season.

• September 2, 2025: Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail surface work will be ongoing between Forty Corners Trailhead and Butterbridge Avenue with no access from the Crystal Springs Trailhead. Trail users can use the Olde Muskingham Trail on the west side of the Tuscarawas River as an alternative route. 

• July 25, 2025:: The Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail will be closed in Massillon between Walnut Road and Cherry Road for a drainage project coordinated by the Army Corps of Engineers. The work is anticipated to be completed sometime in Fall 2025.
