From a tent along the shores of the Tuscarawas River, enjoy all that the Canalway and Canal Fulton has to offer — canoeing, kayaking, bicycling the Towpath, a canal boat ride and so much more.
Camping reservations at Canal Fulton Canoe Livery are not required but are recommended. Once you have your date set, bring your tent and camping equipment to the Canoe Livery and set up your camp right along the river.
Rent canoes or kayaks from the Canal Fulton Canoe Livery for a trip down the Tuscarawas River, and follow up with bicycle rentals for a ride along the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail! Take the trail south to the Lake Avenue Trailhead in Massillon, where you can grab some food at the Blue Heron Deli. Travel back north, returning to Canal Fulton.
Use your evening to explore Canal Fulton, and grab dinner at one of the many local eateries before retiring to your tent. Upon waking up the next day, grab breakfast at a local cafe, and then head back to the canoe livery for a round of putt-putt golf to round out your trip to Canal Fulton.
The Canal Fulton Canoe Livery offers multiple packages, depending on what activities you're interested in. Visit their website here to learn more.
While cycling to Massillon and back, consider taking the Ohio & Erie Canal one way, and the Olde Muskingum Trail the other. This scenic route follows along the western edge of the Tuscarawas River near the Ohio & Erie Canal and parallels an active railroad from Canal Fulton to Jackson Township.
